What to Expect From Take-Two Interactive Software's Next Quarterly Earnings Report

New York-based Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (TTWO) develops, publishes, and markets interactive entertainment solutions. Valued at $38 billion by market cap, the company's products are for console systems, handheld gaming systems and personal computers and are delivered through physical retail, digital download, online, and cloud streaming services. The leading game publisher is expected to announce its fiscal second-quarter earnings for 2027 after the market closes on Monday, Nov. 9.

Ahead of the event, analysts expect Take-Two Interactive Software to report a profit of $0.49 per share on a diluted basis, down 52.9% from $1.04 per share in the year-ago quarter. The company beat the consensus estimates in three of the last four quarters while missing the forecast on another occasion.

TTWO stock has notably underperformed the S&P 500 Index’s ($SPX) 13% gains over the past 52 weeks, with shares down 19.9% during this period. Similarly, it underperformed the State Street Communication Services Select Sector SPDR ETF’s (XLC) 11.3% losses over the same time frame.

TTWO’s underperformance stems primarily from an extended content lull, soaring game-development costs, and compressed free cash flow. As its hit-driven business model relies on massive, infrequent blockbusters, prolonged gaps between major releases have left top-line growth stagnant while heavy reinvestment in pipelines limits capital returns to shareholders. Furthermore, sky-high market expectations ahead of Grand Theft Auto VI have created a protracted holding pattern, causing investors to temporarily rotate capital elsewhere while waiting out the lengthy timeline to launch.

Analysts’ consensus opinion on TTWO stock is bullish, with an overall “Strong Buy” rating. Out of 28 analysts covering the stock, 25 advise a “Strong Buy” rating, two suggest a “Moderate Buy,” and one gives a “Hold.” TTWO’s average analyst price target is $290.03, indicating a notable potential upside of 42.6% from the current levels.
