Intel shares tumbled 30.7% following its Q3 2026 results on Oct. 29, due to the company’s weak Q4 guidance, with projected revenue of $15 billion - $16 billion and adjusted EPS of $0.25, falling short of analysts’ estimates. Investor concerns intensified after an explosion at Intel’s Fab 28 plant in Israel was expected to reduce Q4 revenue by approximately $300 million and gross margins by 200 basis points, while the PC market outlook deteriorated, with unit shipments projected to decline 12% in 2026 and another 10% in 2027.
Despite Q3 adjusted EPS of $0.52, beating the estimate, revenue growth of 21% to $16.51 billion, and Data Center and AI revenue surging nearly 80% to $7.3 billion, investors were alarmed by sharply higher planned 2027 capital expenditure and management’s warning that Intel would not generate positive free cash flow next year.
For the fiscal year ending in December 2026, analysts expect Intel's EPS to surge 975% year-over-year to $1.05. The company's earnings surprise history is promising. It beat the consensus estimates in each of the last four quarters.

This configuration is more bullish than three months ago, with 10 analysts suggesting a "Strong Buy."
On Oct. 30, RBC Capital cut its price target on Intel to $75 while maintaining a "Sector Perform" rating
The mean price target of $114.15 represents a 79.2% premium to INTC’s current price levels. The Street-high price target of $200 suggests a 214% potential upside.
