You cannot use CONST to build the MACD itself. Can only be used when drawing a terminator line. The terminator line divides the histogram into upper and lower parts. In the standard MACD, this is the zero line. Those. if you want to use standard values with a zero terminator, use the CONST for the terminator line with a period of 0. In this indicator, the terminator can be a moving average calculated from the base calculated line specified in the UsedLine parameter. Accordingly, the divergence is calculated as the difference in the deviation of adjacent unidirectional peaks from the terminator line.

The signals of this indicator are divergence signals. This is not necessarily a reversal, but definitely a weakening of the trend. With other positive conditions, it is worth entering the market using this indicator when the terminator line is broken by a divergent wave, expecting a long trend. It is also possible that the emerging divergence is not justified and the price continues to move. On the histogram, this will look like the color of the divergence, replaced by the color of a simple movement. In this case, the price movement will continue at least one more wave (as a rule).

The divergence colors correspond to the intuitive: blue - looking for purchases, red - sales.

Note: the next divergence cancels the previous one!

In my opinion, the indicator demonstrates the best results with default settings, but you can find parameters more suitable for you.

We do we need it? Looking through the operation results of my favorite Expert Advisor in the strategy tester I noticed that most deals it opened during the Asian session were unprofitable. It would be a great idea to see it on a graph, I thought. And that was the time I bumped into the first problem - viewing only the Asian session on a chart. And hiding all the others. It is not a problem to find the work schedule of exchanges in Tokyo or Singapore, but how to highlight their operation time only and nothing else?

The second problem appeared later. For some reason all the deals performed on Thursdays were unprofitable, while on the other days everything went good. What was wrong with Thursdays so that my Expert Advisor couldn't cope with them? I started analyzing the situation, and so I needed to highlight all Thursdays on a chart. This was the second problem.

The third problem appeared when I decided to compare the price behavior between two sessions. I thought that the American session was somehow connected with the Asian one, so I needed to highlight both of them and remove all the rest. And that was the third problem.

Comparing these problems, I had come to a decision to start doing something, so I started developing an indicator that would solve all these problems. That is how the GoodTime indicator appeared.

GoodTime:

highlights any time periods, for example, sessions;
can highlight a selected day only, for example, Thursday;
adds a caption to every highlighted period, for example, \"Tokio THU\";
highlights bars, candlesticks or lines automatically tracking the representation type selected for your chart;
highlights selected interval with vertical filling;
or by underlining;
or searches for a minimum and maximum value of the price at a selected time range and then highlights the range between the minimum and the maximum point.

Several instances of the GoodTime indicator can work on the same chart at the same time; they will highlight different periods. Thus you can highlight two trade sessions and compare them with each other.

GoodTime can be used for making statements and screenshots, where you can draw attention to specific bars or candlesticks on a chart. You can use it for analyzing Expert Advisors by highlighting trade sessions and week days on a chart for further examination.

GoodTime is also suitable for manual trading as it highlights the work time of your colleagues located in other time zones and general trade sessions.

The Expert Advisor sends notifications to a mobile phone, via e-mail or activates an audio alarm in case any changes are detected on the trading account: opening/closing positions, changing order and position parameters, balance or leverage. The Expert Advisor does not trade, it only monitors your account and orders.

Launching the Expert Advisor

\r\n

You should allow automated trading in your MetaTrader 5 terminal to let the operation of the Expert Advisor. To do this, enter Tools - Options - Expert Advisors tab and enable \"Allow automated trading\" parameter. To launch the Expert Advisor, right-click its name in the Navigator window and select \"Attach to chart\" or drag and drop it on the chart by mouse. The windows of the Expert Advisor's parameters will appear. Set the desired parameters and click OK.

The Expert Advisor can be attached to the chart of any financial instrument. Analysis of order and position parameters is performed after any trading operation, while checks for reaching critical Equity or Free Margin levels is performed after a new quote arrives. Therefore, it is recommended to launch the Expert Advisor on the symbol with frequently arriving quotes (for example, on one of the basic symbols: EURUSD, GBPUSD, USDCHF or USDJPY) in order to decrease notification delays. Calculating Free Margin Level

\r\n

As mentioned earlier, the Expert Advisor can notify of decreasing Free Margin compared to Margin. Let's examine calculation of Free Margin level in more details. In most cases (including MetaTrader 5 trading terminal), Margin value is defined considering Leverage provided by a broker. But the broker can change the leverage value at any time, and the Margin value also changes subsequently. Most often, the leverage value is not so critical for trading (unless trading is conducted in a risky manner using the maximum possible position volume). Therefore, this Expert Advisor calculates the Margin value without regard to the leverage. Free Margin level is defined as a ratio of Free Margin to Margin in percentage value.

\r\n

Let's consider the following example. Suppose that 1 lot equals to 100 000 units of the base currency. Position at EURUSD is opened having the volume of 0.10 lots at the price of 1.3 USD per 1 EUR. For buying or selling 0.10 * 100 000 = 10 000 EUR, we will need 13 000 USD. This value is considered to be the Margin for the present Expert Advisor (though in most cases, a leverage is applied to that value, for example, if leverage is 1:100, then we will have 130 USD of Margin). If the deposit is equal to 1000 USD, Free Margin will be equal to 1000 - 130 = 870 USD after opening a position, while the Margin level will be calculated as 870 / 13 000 = 0.0669 or 6.69 %. If we set the Margin limit, at which notification is delivered, to 5%, the notification will be sent in case of Free Margin being equal to 0.05 * 13 000 = 650 USD or Equity comprising 650 + 130 = 780 USD.

\r\n

Despite the apparent complexity of defining the Free Margin level, this method provided the most informative results in actual practice.

\r\n

Sending Notifications to the Mobile Terminal

\r\n

First of all, you should have mobile version of MetaTrader 4 or MetaTrader 5 terminal installed on your Android or iOS powered device to receive notifications. You can download MetaTrader 4 or MetaTrader 5 mobile terminal for Android, as well as MetaTrader 4 or MetaTrader 5 mobile terminal for iOS for free.

\r\n

You should allow sending push notifications in MetaTrader 5 trading terminal, on which the Expert Advisor is to be launched. To do this, enter Tools – Options – Notifications tab and turn \"Enable Push Notifications\" parameter on. You should also specify your MetaQuotes_ID on this tab. It can be found on Messages tab of the mobile terminal.

\r\n

\"Push Notification Events\" input parameter allows you to define types of events that are followed by sending notifications to your mobile terminal. Amplitude - The amplitude represents the minimum amount of bars between alternative price points. To find big patterns, increase the amplitude parameter. To find smaller patterns, decrease the amplitude parameter. You can load the indicator many times in the chart to find overlapping patterns of different sizes.
Breakout Period - Optional donchian breakout period for wolfe wave confirmation. Zero means not used.
Max History Bars - Amount of past bars to evaluate when the indicator loads in the chart.
Display Stats - Show or hide the statistics dashboard and performance data.
Display SL/TP Levels - Show or hide suitable SL and TP levels for each signal.
Display Price Labels - Show or hide the pattern price labels.

All details about errors and warning are logged in the Experts log.

When number of Instruments is greater than 8, all of them participate in calculations and affect chart lines, but only first 8 are displayed. Though it's feasible to have more than 8 lines, it would produce difficulties with perception. Moreover, each next instrument added to the cluster affects the whole picture less.

Please, be patient. The indicator calculates a bunch of moving averages for every symbol, for different time frames. When it's placed on a chart first time, the process may take a while, usually this means some data has being still downloading and calculating. All necessary refreshes take place automatically. Of course, a backtest cannot tell you everything you need. For example, GBPUSD is now changing direction to a downward trend (at ~1.64000 on 02.12.2013).

It's a good opportunity to use the grid strategy to benefit from that fall. Test previous up and down trends to adjust the best grid for this pair. CMF provides three types of typical signals:

Application

Chaikin Money Flow can be used to define a general buying or\r\n selling bias simply with positive or negative values. The indicator oscillates\r\n above/below the zero line. Generally, buying pressure is stronger when the\r\n indicator is positive and selling pressure is strong when the indicator is\r\n negative.

\r\n

While this zero line cross seems simple enough, the reality is\r\nmuch choppier. Chaikin Money Flow sometimes only briefly crosses the zero line\r\nwith a move that turns the indicator barely positive or negative. There is no\r\nfollow through and this zero line cross ends up becoming a whipsaw (bad\r\nsignal). Chartists can filter these signals with buffers by setting the bullish\r\nthreshold a little above zero (+.05) and the bearish threshold a little below\r\nzero (-.05). These thresholds will not entirely eliminate bad signals, but can\r\nhelp reduce whipsaws and filter out weaker signals.
