CPI excl. Energy and Unprocessed Food y/y reflects a change in prices for a basket of goods and services in the current month compared to the same month a year ago.
The effect of CPI on euro quotes depends on accompanying factors. CPI growth against insufficient inflation is seen as positive for the currency. However in recession, the rise in CPI may lead to a more severe economic downturn and fall in the European currency.
