Markit Manufacturing PMI monthly reflects the activity of the manufacturing sector purchasing managers in the eurozone. The index is calculated based on the surveys of representatives of 3,000 private manufacturing companies. The representatives evaluate the level of production, orders, employment, inventories and price changes during the past month.
The index is used in evaluating the development of the euro area industrial sector.
Readings above 50 can affect euro quotes positively.
