Bank of England Quantitative Easing Total is a monetary policy, in which the Bank purchases assets to fill the financial system and stimulate economic activity. Quantitative easing operations are usually performed when the interest rate cut does not have the desired result. The central bank creates new electronic money.

A higher than expected QE reading is seen as negative for the GBP decreasing its rate, and vice versa.
