Construction Spending m/m reflects changes in the amount of spending on all types of construction in the United States in the given month compared to the previous month. The index only measures data on completed projects.
The indicator has a minimal effect on the markets due to the high volatility and the effect of unpredictable factors (e.g. weather etc.) Experts use the measure to predict upcoming GDP values, because construction investment is included in GDP calculations.
