Core PCE Price Index y/y reflects price changes on durable and non-durable goods and services in the reporting month compared to the same month of the previous year. Food and energy prices are excluded from the index due to their high volatility.
The Fed uses the index when estimating inflation. Index growth may have a positive effect on dollar quotes.
